Dr. Ludmila Smirnova is Professor of Education at Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, N.Y., where she has taught for the past 18 years. Previously, she was Dean of the prestigious School of Foreign Languages at the Volgograd State Pedagogical Institute in Russia. At the Mount, she offers courses in Psychology of Learning, Methods of Teaching and Teaching with Technology. She is widely recognized for her leadership in applying emerging Internet technologies to education. She has run numerous workshops for college, local and international audiences on the application of Smart Technologies and Web 2.0 tools to teaching. She is a co-designer and co-facilitator of the Moodle for Teachers workshops at IT4AL (Integrating Technology for Life-Long Learning), reaching thousands of global educators online. Professor Smirnova is a certified Smart Board Trainer, a certified ThingLink and VoiceThread Educator. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the AACE/edMedia Conference and the International Ambassador for the KDP Educational Honor Society.
